Running pace

Convert pace and speed, calculate splits and estimate race times.

Predict from a previous result

Predictions do not guarantee a result. Training, elevation, weather and large distance differences can strongly affect outcomes. Use min:sec for pace and h:mm:ss for race time; 5:30 means 5 minutes 30 seconds.

Editable example

Convert pace and speed, calculate splits and estimate race times.

How it is calculated

Pace = time ÷ distance. One mile is 1.609344 km. Splits maintain a constant pace; the last may be shorter. Riegel estimates T₂ = T₁ × (D₂/D₁)^1.06 from a previous result.

pace = time / distance; Riegel: T₂ = T₁ × (D₂ / D₁)^1.06
Assumptions and limitations

Predictions do not guarantee a result. Training, elevation, weather and large distance differences can strongly affect outcomes. Use min:sec for pace and h:mm:ss for race time; 5:30 means 5 minutes 30 seconds.
